Delius w/t (1 x 90′) – Award-winning film-maker John Bridcut presents an authored musical profile of Frederick Delius, the composer of On Hearing The First Cuckoo In Spring and La Calinda, as part of the BBC’s celebration of the composer’s birth 150 years ago.
The film focuses on Delius’ early life and how it shaped the music he created. It will look at his life in Bradford, his escape from the family wool business, his failed buiness venture growing oranges in Florida and his home in France, where he emerged as one of the early 20th century’s most original composers, winning the admiration of Grieg, Fauré and Bartók.
