Punchdrunk in Chelsea

Punchdrunk the imaginative London-based immersive theatre company has upped sticks for NYC, and set up home in an abandoned hotel in Chelsea. The McKittrick Hotel was built to be New York’s most luxurious hotel, but it was closed down 2 days after the start of WWII (and six weeks before it opened). Now it’s home to Sleep No More, a play inspired by Macbeth and Hitchcock, in which audiences are left to wander lavishly dressed rooms to follow the story, wherever it might be occurring. Guests might stumble on an epic scene with dozens of actors or find themselves having an intimate one-on-one behind a locked door…

Go, if you dare. The play runs for several weeks from 7th March, 2011
