Gay is the New Black
Dangerous Breed is home to political T-Shirts that make you think: the slogan that is provoking most comment at the moment is “Gay is the New Black”, which refers to the denial of gay marriage rights in the USA. Others include “Ski Iraq” (as seen on Six Feet Under), “Gaza Strip Club” and “Petrosexual”. Get on down to Mulberry Street market in NYC on Sundays to get yours or check out the website. First of all this statement is so offensive to African American men and women.
There is no comparison or relationship to same sex marriage and being African American.
Marriage is choice, a decision based on nurturing. Being African American is evidence of descent and not choice.
Furthermore, most gays especially white could never endure what African Americans endured for just being black.
Many of them could have never stood up under slavery seeing that they are unable to deal with the smallest of issues involving their sexuality differences.
