Zai Bennett, Director of Digital Channels and Acquisitions at ITV, outlined his commissioning needs to attendees of the Broadcast Entertainment Forum (as of September 2009).

Zai's View on ITV

• ITV2 is celebrity-led entertainment that has genuine access (Katie and Peter) or jeopardy (Jack Osbourne). Coleen, Paris Hilton etc. work well. Doesn’t want joe public fulfilling their dreams on ITV2: it’s all about the celebrities.
• ITV4 is a sports and entertainment channel “for men with more than one thing on their mind”.

Looking For:

• ITV4
  • want a male version of Loose Women.
  • Looking for talent that is a little ‘lighter’ than Vinnie Jones and Andy McNabb, to encourage co-viewing (men watching with their wives and girlfriends). Faces similar in tone to Danny Wallace, Adam and Joe and Johnny Vaughn (but don’t just attach these names to your proposals – they are looking for different faces).
