Slate magazine has a fascinating (and rather unsettling) article about how forensic chemists are working on being able to identify individuals through their body odour (which has got the US Department of Homeland Security sniffing around) . Dave Johns explains that what you’ve eaten or handled lingers as a smell that can be picked up and analysed.
