Teenagers who take a pledge of chasity are just as likely as their peers to indulge in pre-marital sex, and more likely to do it without taking precautions, according to a report in Pediatrics journal. In 2005, the BBC broadcase Secret of the Sexes, which was groundbreaking in that it conducted a huge online survey to find out whether there was a difference between men and women’s brains, or whether a man could have a ‘woman’s brain’ and vice versa. The survey proved to be a huge hit with viewers.
It strikes me that an interactive survey of teen’s sexual activity could be a) popular with that generation and b) revealing. It feels like it could produce kind of results that could launch a thousand government initiatives (and Daily Mail column inches). Who’s brave enough?
