Shut Up and Listen to Win Your Easiest Factual TV Commissions

The easiest way to get an idea commissioned is to have that idea suggested by a commissioning executive.

Listen to what commissioners say at conferences and briefings.

In pitch meetings, be sure to ask questions before you leave the room – what are they currently interested in, what don’t they want, what is working well for them – and really listen to what they say.

Ideas will often ‘leak’ out in these conversations – spot them, develop them and pitch them back and you are guaranteed a commission.
