Ross Babbit has been named senior vice president of programming and development at Travel Channel. He’s guided the creative and editorial direction at the network during the past few years, and has been influential in the brand’s evolution and growth. Babbit is based at the network’s Chevy Chase, Md., headquarters and will report to Shannon O’Neill, President.
Babbit has worked across several of the Scripps Networks Interactive brands during the past 10 years. Prior to joining Travel Channel in February 2012, he served as senior vice president and general manager of DIY Network. In that role, he oversaw programming, creative services and marketing. Before Scripps, he worked as a producer for The CBS Early Show, as well as holding various writer, producer, and director roles with shows created for Food Network, Comedy Central, and Lifetime.
