Tom Kerridge is the only British chef who has earned two Michelin stars by cooking in a pub – The Hand & Flowers in Marlow. The show reveals the secrets of his indulgent pub food, as he cooks a selection of starters, mains and desserts inspired by dishes you’d see on the chalk boards of some of Britain’s best pubs – from mussels cooked in ale, to treacle-cured roast beef with ultimate Yorkshire puddings, and date and toffee pudding with caramelised banana.
In between the recipes, Tom visits some of his suppliers to provide tips on what to look for to get the best ingredients for specific styles of cooking – for example, which cut of beef to choose for your Sunday roast. And he visits other pubs and producers that are pushing the boundaries when it comes to food.
