Greenlit: Mary’s Jobs For Life, Channel 4

Mary’s Jobs for Life w/t –  Brand expert and marketeer Mary Portas has spotted a business opportunity – the potential of a huge resource that she plans to tap into by creating a brand new business with Britain’s often overlooked and under-valued pensioners.

Many over 65s find themselves on the employment scrap heap simply because of their age. But that doesn’t mean they’ve lost the skills and experience to cut it in the modern world, and if they ran their own business, they could work as long or as little as they liked.

So Mary is going to help them do exactly that. She’s setting up an agency representing a grey army – who could be 65 or 105 – to compete against the rest of the world in anything from catering to building, childcare to beauty. Mary will cast the net wide to recruit an army of OAPs who may have been cast aside by society, but still have very much to offer.
