Greenlit: Plane Xtreme, The Weather Channel

Plane Xtreme (4 x 30′) –  Docu-series that follows the real-life adventures of an elite group of adrenaline-seeking pilots who risk their lives flying small planes, in ways for which they were never designed, through all types of weather conditions to deliver small, general aviation aircraft from their Florida base to destinations around the world.

The series follows the aces of Wings of Eagles Aircraft Delivery in Tampa, FL as they push the physical limits of both man and plane to the extreme in order to deliver everything from small Piper Cubs to vintage aircraft. With no de-icing equipment, no oxygen masks, hostile weather conditions and one engine, the crews risk their lives each time they leave on another trip to remote locations in The Far East, Africa, Europe or South America.

These fearless fliers are willing to risk it all for the freedom and rush that this unique aviation service provides. They write their own rules for flight as they bravely take on situations most pilots spend their lives avoiding. Currently there are less than 50 ferry aviators in the United States who are willing to make transatlantic aircraft delivery their full-time job, and most have other careers – one is a pilot for a Saudi prince, another owns a large microbrewery, and another races cars.
