Greenlit: Oprah Builds a Network, OWN Canada

Oprah Builds a Network (2 x 60′) – A candid look at Oprah’s first year as CEO of OWN. In the same way OWN’s popular series Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes took viewers inside the making of the final season of her successful talk show, this new two-part documentary special showcases Oprah sharing her innermost thoughts about some of the opportunities and obstacles she’s faced as she works to create her cable network.

In episode 1, Oprah discusses the first year of her network launch, the reason why she decided to make herself CEO and her personal feelings about the much-publicized Nielsen misstep. Cameras follow Oprah as she shoots comedy skits for the Jimmy Kimmel Oscar special and travels to Georgia for production on a new OWN series.

In episode 2, Oprah goes on the road with Oprah’s Lifeclass: The Tour, she meets the cast of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s and interviews the Kardashian Family. She also talks about where the network is today.
