Dads in the Delivery Room (aka Don’t Mind Him, He’s My Midwife) (6 x 60′) – 2012 marks the 50th anniversary since a ground-breaking report first suggested that men should be allowed in the delivery room to be with their partners. But a recent report from the Royal College of Midwives suggests that fathers should be encouraged to take on more of a role in maternity care.
BBC Three is taking things a step further and setting fathers-to-be the ultimate challenge – delivering their own first-borns.
In each episode two young women expecting their first child will put the most important experience of their lives in the hands of the men they love. Their partners will undergo intensive training from a licensed midwife in the build up to the big day, when they will deliver their baby.
