Selling the Unsellable

NYC-based artist Justin Gignac sells ‘Garbage of New York City‘ cubes containing sidewalk trash. The project grew out of Gignac’s desire to prove how important packaging is to a product. His each clear plastic cube is signed and dated by the artist and costs $50. So far he’s sold more than 1,200 cubes, including limited editions from New Year’s Eve or opening or closing days at the Yankee Stadium ($100).
