Books to Inspire You

Barnes & Noble Review has published a list of recently published and forthcoming 20 books they’re excited about. In amongst them are a number that might (obviously or with a bit of creative thinking) make a good factual programme, such as:

1. 36 Arguments for the Existence of God by Rebecca Goldstein -  a novel about faith in an academic setting;
2. Just Kids by Patti Smith – an autobiography that explores her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe;
3. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot – the story of Henrietta Lacks whose cells are alive today (and weigh 50 million metric tons) even though she’s been dead for sixty years. A very human science story;
4. He Crashed Me So I Crashed Him Back by by Mark Bechtel -the story  of NASCAR;
5. Pulitzer: A Life in Politics, Print, and Power by James McGrath Morris – a biograpy;
6. Mark Twain: The Adventures of Samuel L. Clemens by Jerome Loving – biography.
