The Atlantic has a list of 27 ‘brave thinkers’ or people who “commit acts of moral and intellectual bravery by espousing unpopular or controversial positions”. It includes Steve Jobs (founder of Apple and Pixar), Barack Obama (you know him, right?), Morgan Tsvangirai (Prime Minister of Zimbabwe) and Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook), but only lists two women: Sheila Bair (Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) and Meredith Whitney (Founder and CEO of Meredith Whitney Advisory Group LLC) and they’re both American. Come now, surely there are more brave women than that out there..? How about Aung San Suu Kyi for starters?
