Secret Venice

Academics from Padua University, Italy  have revealed images of the lost Roman city Altinum, which predates Venice. Aerial and infrared photographs show a network of canals, city walls, theatres and a harbour. The images were taken during a drought in 2007 and reveal one of the few ancient European cities that hasn’t been built over.
