Quirky – Design Collaboration
Quirky is a site that allows aspiring entrepreneurs to upload their design ideas (for a fee of USD 99) to be evaluated by a crowd of ‘influencers’, who advise on product development and vote on which products should be put into production and marketed. Those entrepreneurs who make it through this process get 12% of the revenue and 70% goes into Quirky’s fund, which funds production. A small amount also goes to the influencers who made it happen.
