  4. I am so ashamed that this is what we are going to be known for. A bunch of drunk rednecks fighting over forty dollars…. dear god what are we coming to… and this History Channel thought it was enough to make a freaking show about…….

  5. the modifieds are a great race car and in the scheme of things really started nascar in which ”they”needed more power and better handling to run the moonshine and to out run the revenures back in the day .i just wish the cars were supermodifieds instead . oswego ny.

  7. the modified drivers deserve this they work there butts off in working on thier cars, practicing and alot of other things that involve racing. SO BEFORE YOU TRASH THEM THINK FOR A MINUTE THEY DID START WHAT NASCAR IS AT THAT TRACK BOWMAN GRAY STADIUM

  8. Moonshine may have inspired the Nascar gangs in the south. But the modified’s started in the north east. Check out http://www.vintagemodified.com

I’ve helped a few teams in Ct and have raced street stocks myself. If you can race a modified competitively, you can race anything.

  9. I love this form of grass roots competition.
It’s got everything including genuine American ingenuity. They prepare their weapons all week for the battle on Saturday nite. Hundreds of horsepower add to the intense passion. Comradery lies under the shared danger, they compete in firesuits and full coverage helmets. Racing is a very high energy way to spend a weekend.

  11. As a over all race fan I was very excited to watch “Madhouse.” However I looked up Bowman Gray Stadium on the net. On their press release tab, you can see who won and wrecked etc week in and week out. While it may not take away my total desire to watch the show it does tarnish it a little. Learn from my mistake, don’t be over curious and look it up as I did.

  12. i race stock cars myself here in ohio i have seen some of the comments people have made over the show if you dont like it dont watch i hate ice dancing and golf so i dont watch them on tv i am all about racing and this show is on the top of my list. racing at a grassroots level is most often done by men and most of these guys have a type a personalty get it done type of men some times settle things with violence im not saying its right but it happens and by the way it pays five thousand not forty dollars
