Greenlit: Tears, Lies and Videotape, ITV1

Tears, Lies and Videotape (1×60′) – uses archive footage and interviews to explore the people who make impassioned media appeals for the safe return of their missing loved ones, such as Sharon Matthews who was convicted of kidnapping her daughter and Ian Huntley who appealed for help in finding the killer of two young girls in Soham before being jailed for their murder.

Criminal psychologist professor David Canter examines how these cases have made the public distrust such appeals.
