Ruby Wax does Psychology
Ruby Wax gave a talk yesterday at an event management conference about the psychology of empathy and leadership. Turns out she’s been doing an MA in psychotherapy, and she threw some neuroscience into her talk for good measure. To prove her point about empathy, she invited an unsuspecting woman onto the stage to be interviewed and within seconds she’d got her taking about her failed marriage. The audience were initially shocked but very soon they were completely won over. Ruby says she’s left behind her brash and sometimes aggressive style, which she says she affected because she thought that was what TV producers wanted. She was certainly very warm and engaging – would love to see her doing a new style of interview, where she puts her new-found warmth to the test. She was great talking about relationships – romantic and otherwise, so that might be a new direction for her?
